Mastodon The Untamed Witch – NV ART

The Untamed Witch

In 2021, I received the next offer to illustrate and cover the book The Untamed Witch. Of course, I happily agreed. I'm very proud of this project, especially the cover. And what I’m most proud of is that I had to finish this project to the sound of explosions outside my window. Yes exactly. In February 2022, war began in my country. And I finished the illustrations already during the hostilities and occupation of my region.

When the war broke out, it would have been easy to let fear and uncertainty consume me. But as an artist, I knew that my creativity could be a powerful force to bring light and hope to me. So, I made a conscious decision to continue working on The Untamed Witch, despite the chaos unfolding outside my window.

Throughout this challenging journey, I was fortunate to have the unwavering support of the publishing house. Their commitment to my well-being and the success of the book was truly remarkable. Despite the difficult circumstances, they ensured that I received my payment promptly, going above and beyond the terms of our agreement.

I also owe a debt of gratitude to Lidia Pradas, the author of The Untamed Witch. Her encouragement and financial assistance provided me with the strength and motivation to continue working on the illustrations. In times of darkness, it is the support of others that can make all the difference.

As Erich Maria Remarque wrote - "In dark times it is well visible light people." This is true. And I am very happy to work with such an amazing team.

As I look back on this experience, I am filled with a sense of pride and accomplishment. The illustrations in The Untamed Witch are not just a reflection of my artistic abilities, but a testament to the power of art to transcend adversity.

Despite the challenges I faced, I am grateful for the opportunity to have contributed to The Untamed Witch. It is a reminder that even in the face of unimaginable adversity, creativity can thrive and beauty can emerge.

So, let us never underestimate the power of art. Let us continue to create, to inspire, and to bring light to the darkest corners of our world. For in doing so, we become the untamed witches, wielding our brushes as weapons of hope.

I showed you illustrations from this book. All illustrations were done with Procreate. The cover, by the way, was planned to be black from the beginning:

At the end I will publish a description of the book from the publisher and a link where you can buy it:

The Untamed Witch
Reclaim Your Instincts. Rewild Your Craft. Create Your Most Powerful Magick.

  • Publisher ‏ : ‎ Fair Winds Press (October 4th, 2022)
  • Language ‏ : ‎ English
  • Paperback ‏ : ‎ Trade Paperback 192 Pages
  • Illustrator: Nata Vedana

Personalized magick is the most powerful magick. The Untamed Witch empowers you to use your own instincts, intuition, and personal environment in your witchcraft.

Witchcraft is not one defined, arbitrary path. Rather, it is a diversity of practices that you can curate and align with based on your lifestyle and unique gifts. Moreover, those practices are not meant to be done the same way by every witch. Someone else’s love spell is how they conjure love. Why use lavender in a ritual if it isn’t native to your surroundings or you simply don’t like it?

This guide gives you the insight and tools to undomesticate your craft from formulaic—to inspired—practice.

The Untamed Witch also outlines:

  • Tools and practices to access the subconscious
  • How to work with the life, death, rebirth cycle
  • How to use elemental and land witchcraft
  • Ancestry work and communicating with spirit guides and entities
With this book at your side, learn to use your instincts to rewild your magick.
