In 2022, I was offered to draw a book about Tarot. Oh, it was a breath of fresh air in my gloomy, scary everyday life with rocket explosions outside the window. Without hesitation, I eagerly said yes!

As a big Tarot fan, I was thrilled to take on the illustration tasks. What made it even more exciting was the publisher granting me complete freedom in creating the Tarot card illustrations. And what did I choose to do? I turned them into portraits! Portraits are my true passion, and I poured my heart into each one, infusing them with as much symbolism as possible according to the Rider Waite Tarot.

Throughout the project, I felt a sense of joy and fulfillment. The opportunity to combine my love for Tarot and my passion for portraits was a dream come true. Each illustration became a labor of love, as I carefully crafted the symbolism and brought the cards to life through my artistic interpretation.

As always, I was fortunate to work with an incredible team. The author of the book is not only talented but also possesses a kind heart. It was so easy and pleasant for me to work with her! And her support made the entire process even more enjoyable.

In winter, our city was under heavy shelling and we were faced with such a terrible thing as a blackout (a shutdown of electricity, and sometimes water and heating). Well, I won’t lie, but it was the contract for this book that did not let me completely lose heart, because common sense told me - this is a contract and you must fulfill it! And I draw on the floor by candlelight to the sound of explosions. This book was truly what kept me going that winter.
Therefore, it is impossible to express in words how grateful I am to the publisher and the author that they chose me at that time. This meant more than they could imagine.
