VIDMA
(The Witch)

Vidma (literally: the witch) - is one of the most popular characters in Ukrainian folklore. She is a woman who can cast spells, knows healing and poisonous herbs, brews potions, and can change the weather, curse, or even steel stars, the Moon, or the Sun from the skies. It is believed that the Vidma can be "born" (get the powers from her mother) or "taught" (learn or obtain the powers during her life). Vidma can deal with Chorts, Upyrs, and different spirits. They can be both evil and good. Also, Vidma can turn herself into a cat.
