UPYR 

In Ukrainian folklore, Upyr is a dead sorcerer. His death has always been long and painful. On the day of his funeral different natural disasters and catastrophes happened. Soon Upyr starts rising from his grave to drink human blood. Even after his death Upyr could curse someone, cast a drought or even send disease to the entire village. One can easily recognize Upyr by the red face. The only way to kill him was to burn him to ashes in a juniper fire or to cut his head off, pierce his heart with an aspen stick, and turn his body face down in a coffin.
