KRYNYTSIA

Krynytsia ( in the Ukrainian "well or sometimes spring" ) is a spirit of underground spring or well in Ukrainian folklore. Water from wells believed to be healing, able to cure diseases, give strength and courage, beauty, and love. Often it is used for magical purposes. If a well is abandoned, the water from it could kill, and the spirit turns into a scary drowned man or a monster.
